Barca jumped into the race to get Eriksen
After Inter, Barca wanted to recruit Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen in the transfer window in January. On January 20, Eriksen met Tottenham President Daniel Levy and reaffirmed his desire to join Inter.
The two clubs have yet to find a consensus on the transfer fee, but the individual terms are said to have been completed.
However, according to Sky Sports (UK), Barca interrupted. The Nou Camp team is interested in the Swedish midfielder and plans to recruit him as a free agent in the summer. But, they changed their plans and wanted Eriksen right this transfer window.
Eriksen is valued at about 22 million USD, but Inter only wants to pay 14.5 million USD. In a recent statement, Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta was optimistic. “It’s a great player. We are waiting and still confident in the success of this deal,” he said.
Eriksen has played 28 matches for Tottenham in all competitions this season, but has only scored twice in the Premier League.
Conte joined Inter
Winger Victor Moses reunited coach Antonio Conte when he joined Inter on a loan deal from Chelsea on January 23.
Moses only plays for Inter in the second half of this season, before the parties involved consider a more sustainable plan.
The Nigerian was a pillar of Chelsea under Conte to win the English Premier League in 2017. But after his teacher left, Moses was not used by the next coach Maurizio Sarri and Frank Lampard. In the past year, the 29-year-old winger went to Turkey for a Fenerbahce shirt on loan.
Chelsea had just summoned Moses, after Inter had asked him to borrow him in early January. Before Inter’s launch ceremony on January 23, Moses went out to dinner with his new teammates. A photo taken at this meeting was striker Romelu Lukaku posted on social networks from January 22.
Moses is the fourth player to leave the Premier League to join Inter this season, after Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez in the summer of 2019 and Ashley Young recently. In the new shirt, Moses will most likely be the main stone in the right wing position in the favorite 3-5-2 diagram of Conte.
Inter are second in Serie A, four points behind leaders Juventus. This Sunday, Conte teachers and students will receive Cagliari.
