Jose Mourinho has denied the possibility of returning to Italy in the case of a return as a coach.
In the summer, he has been linked with Juventus, Inter or Napoli, but has not yet returned to the coach seat. Answering TV program Tiki Taka on 29/9, Mourinho also affirmed: “My future? I don’t think it lies in Italy”.
After winning a La Liga and a King’s Cup in three years leading Real, Mourinho returned to Chelsea to win an English Premier League. After this period, his career began to cause controversy with a series of incidents at Chelsea and Man Utd. Since being sacked by Man Utd in December 2018, Mourinho has appeared more as a commentator.
Peter Kenyon: ‘Man Utd was wrong to dismiss Mourinho’
Former Manchester United CEO Peter Kenyon believes Jose Mourinho is still a top-class coach.
“If you give me the job of leading a big team and need to appoint a coach, the first person I think of is Jose Mourinho,” Kenyon said on September 26, on the sidelines of the World Football Summit. “He is intelligent, fit and very experienced. He is not out of date. I just think he needs to find a suitable club. I am sure you will see Mourinho working for a big club.” .
Mourinho has successfully led Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real. But when he arrived at Old Trafford, he could not meet the club’s expectations and was fired in December 2018.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer helped Man Utd win consecutively during his time as interim manager, after Mourinho was fired. However, the Old Trafford team leveled off afterwards. This season, through the first six matches in the Premier League, Man Utd are sixth with two wins, two draws and two losses.
Kenyon said Mourinho was good enough to help Man Utd regain glory on the condition that he must be told how the club works behind the scenes.
